Control of events

Reliable analysis starts with healthy event data.

Search analytics are only useful when searches, impressions, and clicks are fully and correctly recorded. A dashboard can look normal while events are missing, double-arriving or getting to the wrong store.

Volume and patterns

Compare numbers per event type with recent patterns and with each other. Search queries without displays or a sudden doubling of clicks are clear signals. Take into account campaigns and seasons so that real growth is not falsely marked as error.

Fields and versions

Validate mandatory values such as search term, product ID, session, store, and time. Also, check that old and new versions of an event schedule are processed correctly side by side during a transition. Unknown fields should not shut down the entire stream.

Duplicates and order

Use stable event Ids where repeated transmission is possible. Detect duplicate clicks and events that arrive far too late or in the wrong order. This prevents inflated statistics and incorrect attribution.

Store context and privacy

Link each event to the right store, language and time zone and prevent data exchange between customers. Only collect information necessary for operation and analysis. Do not store technical diagnostic data longer than necessary.

Search management

Make reliability part of daily management.

Discuss which measurements, responsibilities and restoration routes fit your online stores and technical environment.
