Embeddings
Embeddings are numerical representations of text or other content that can be compared with content.
Role in search
A search query and product information can be displayed as vectors. When those representations are close together, it can provide a semantic relevance signal, even without exact word overlap.
Use in combination
Embedding is one part of a search strategy. Exact product codes, brands, filters and commercial rules often require additional signals.
