Glossary

Search Ranking

Search Ranking is the logic that determines the order in which products found are presented.

Relevance

Exact matches, field weights, semantic agreement and product context form the substantive basis.

Additional signals

Stock, popularity, novelty or merchandising can further affect the sequence without replacing the nuclear relevance.

Query type

A SKU query requires priorities other than a broad inspiration question; one fixed ranking logic does not have to be optimal everywhere.

Evaluation

Use query sets, CTR, conversion and manual reviews to test ranking changes checked.
